Let us introduce ourselves
Texas Longhorn Land & Cattle LLC is owned and operated by Sam, Marta, and Martita Clegg. Sam’s family represents 5 generations of ranching in Texas while Marta is descended from 8 generations of early colonial families who first introduced cattle ranching to south Texas. Marta’s 1668 family brand remains in use today on their Texas Longhorn cattle herd.
Sam and Marta have 32 years of ranching experience with various cattle breeds and have been concentrating on the raising of Texas Longhorn cattle for the past 16 years on the Six Mile Creek Ranch just outside of Port Lavaca (Port of the Cow), Texas.

How it all came to be…
Years back, after acquiring a few Longhorns, it became evident Longhorn cattle were very special both as a cattle breed and as an excellent beef source highly suitable for marketing to the public. After extensive nutritional based testing, the results revealed interesting facts as compared to other beef breed types. Texas Longhorn Land & Cattle All Natural Grass Fed Beef rates the highest in protein a 19.96%, with total fat at only 7.56%. In addition, total calories were only 146 per 100 grams while other unspecified grass fed beef reported 192 per 100 grams.
